CRIME scenes officers who investigated the death of Semley man Lennie Adams found several weapons in the pub car park where he and the three people on trial for his murder lived, a court heard today.
CSI officers Jonathan Woodland and Paula Roberts, from Avon & Somerset Police, told Winchester Crown Court they found a machete-like knife in Paul Chambers’ caravan and two axes in and around the coach shared by fellow defendants Charlie Louise Chase and Christopher Charles in Station Road.
A black handled metal knife measuring about 60cm found in the corner of Chambers’ caravan had Mr Adams’ blood on it.
There was also blood on a stick that was leaning up against the outside of the caravan and on a smashed front window.
A long handled axe, about 62cm long with a 10cm-wide blade, was propped against the other two defendants’ coach and a smaller axe inside a plastic bag was found inside the coach.
They also found a pick axe and several spades, as well as blood spatters on the outside of another caravan at the site.
Charles, 48, Chase, 25, and Chambers, 49, all of Station Road, deny murdering Mr Adams.
The case continues.
