Skydive to raise money for hospice and epilepsy

A 23-YEAR-OLD from Salisbury will be skydiving to raise money for the hospice that cared for her grandfather.

Rachel Kenchington, who works at Porton Down, is jumping along with Andrea Wooldridge at Old Sarum on July 7.

She is hoping to raise as much as possible for the Salisbury Hospice as a thank you for the care given to her grandfather when he was suffering from cancer.

She said: “I know that it meant a great deal to both him and my grandmother that they had the team there, which took some of the pressure off, allowing my grandfather to get out of the house, have a change of scenery and meet others going through the same thing as him.

“I feel that the money will be going to a good cause and will allow them to support others in the same situation.”

Ms Wooldridge, 30, who works as a teaching assistant at Larkhill Primary School is raising money for Epilepsy Bereaved in memory of Charlie Burns, a former pupil who died a week after his tenth birthday.

She said: "I am hoping to raise awareness of this silent killer."
