Police investigate animal cruelty

A BIRD was knocked out of a tree with a catapult and kicked like a football by a yob in a Salisbury street at the weekend.

Police are investigating following the incident, which happened in Rawlence Road, Bemerton Heath at about 5pm on Sunday.

The offender is described as 18 to 20 years old, with a stocky build with thick black collar-length hair, and wearing camouflage trousers and a dark green body warmer.

He was seen laughing with friends before running off towards Winding Way.

Anyone with information can contact PCSO Gemma Mcindoe at Salisbury Police Station on 101.

Disgusting excuse for a human being. If he is capable of doing this to a bird I hate to think what he may do to a human being. No doubt if he is caught he will be given a little telling off and that will be it

I collected this bird as a volunteer of the Whiltshire Wildlife Hospital. Sadly it injuries were so bad it had to be put to sleep.
