Man punched in face in bar
9:44am Thursday 13th September 2012 in News By Journal Reporter
POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was punched in the face in an unprovoked attack in a Salisbury bar.
The victim had been to the toilet at the Qudos bar in Castle Street at 11.30pm on Saturday, August 25, and returned to the table where he had been sitting with his wife to find a man in his seat.
When he asked the stranger to move, the man challenged him to a fight. The victim refused and the man punched him twice in the face, injuring his nose and breaking one of his teeth.
The man is described as a white male with slightly olive skin, about 30 years old, with close cropped or shaved head and of an athletic, muscular build. He was wearing a grey or white t-shirt.
PC Gavin Hucks of Salisbury Police said "This was a sudden and brief incident which is very uncommon at a venue that normally enjoys a nice friendly atmosphere.
"This man was certainly very unfriendly and I am keen to hear from anyone who may know who he is.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Hucks at Salisbury Police Station on 101.
