A FAMILY run dance school is celebrating 50 years in business this month.

Wellington School of Dance teaches ballroom and Latin American dancing to people of all abilities and has had cause for a double celebration after moving to a newly built venue at Leehurst Swan School last week.

Zoe Tucker, whose parents Keith and Daphne Wellington started the school in 1962, has been involved in the business all her life and now runs it with her husband Nigel.

Mrs Tucker, 54, said: “It’s been quite an incredible journey. The classes have been well supported over the years and the new hall is fabulous.”

The school is open from Tuesday to Friday and at weekends. There is also a new beginners’ class which runs on Wednesday evenings from 7pm to 8pm.

“It’s a really friendly atmosphere and people of all ages are welcome to come along,” added Mrs Tucker.
