Art competition for young people
12:58pm Monday 24th September 2012 in News By Corey Ross
ARTISTS and designers can help local young people fulfil their potential with a Christmas card challenge.
The Rose Gale Trust is inviting people to submit artwork for the charity to use as the designs for its Christmas cards.
Designs will be chosen in age ranges – up to seven, eight to 11, 12 to 15, 16 to 18 and over 19 – and there will be cash awards for the artists whose designs are selected.
All the submitted artwork will be exhibited in Salisbury Arts Centre in October, during which the trustees of the charity will announce the selected designs.
The charity was set up in memory of Rose Gale, who, together with her partner Keith, worked with young people and founded the Bass Connection project in Salisbury.
The proceeds from the card sales will go towards grants to help young people develop skills and obtain training and education to fulfil their full potential.
All card design entries must be submitted by October 12. For details of how to enter go to rosegaletrust.org .
