THE Bishopstone charity sheepdog trial took place at the weekend, with competitors from as far afield as Cornwall and Northampton taking part.

Dogs and their handlers competed in open driving and double fetch classes at the popular annual event.

On Saturday, 51 competitors entered and funds were raised for the Friends of Broadchalke School.

Sunday’s event was delayed by the misty weather but all 38 dogs ran eventually and money was raised for Salisbury Young Farmers.

A total of £1,350 was raised over the two days of competition.
