Oliver Plunket
A TEENAGER is putting his gap year before university to good use by travelling the length of America to raise money for charity.
Oliver Plunket, 18, from Wilton, will set off in seven weeks’ time from Argentina, aiming to finish in Alaska to raise money for Fisher House Foundation, which provides homes away from home for the families of injured military personnel who need to be close to their loved ones while they are treated in hospital.
He said: “When I heard about this charity it inspired me to do something that challenged me rather than walking or cycling.”
Oliver has an army scholarship and plans to join the forces when he finishes his politics and philosophy degree at Exeter University.
