Tiz the Season in Tisbury

TISBURY’S annual community Christmas event promises to be bigger and better than ever this year.

Tiz The Season, which is this year backed by the Tisbury Business Association, is set to take place on Saturday, December 1, and its organisers say it is the village’s biggest commercial and social event of the year.

There will be quirky stalls from the Anonymous Travelling Market along the High Street, and Shaftesbury Silver Band will be playing festive tunes.

There will also be local carol singers and activities for children run by St John’s School, while Santa will be in his grotto to meet children from 3.30pm.

Founder Roger Barnard, of Beaudesert, said: “This year Tiz The Season will be even more magical and sparkling, as we have fabulous new Christmas lighting across the square and new lights on the trees over the shops in the High Street leading the eye up to the new lights on the Christmas tree outside The Bennett Bar, which Santa will switch on at 3pm on December 1.”

The new lights were made possible by grant funding, local donations and continued fundraising by the Tiz The Season committee.
