Indian evening to raise funds
12:56pm Friday 19th October 2012 in News By Hannah White
AN Indian feast is being held in Salisbury next month to help deprived communities in the UK and Africa.
Social enterprise The Pantry Partnership is hosting the fundraising event at Salisbury & South Wilts Sports Club on November 23.
The evening will be a celebration of Diwali and people are urged to come along dressed in saris for an Indian feast, samosa wrapping, and traditional and Bollywood dancing.
The Pantry Partnership holds food events and cooking parties to support food related causes in the UK and developing countries.
It is currently aiming to raise funds to buy fuel efficient stoves for families in deprived African communities and to use surplus food in the UK to provide nourishment for those in need in local communities.
The partnership has already provided fuel efficient stoves to more than 50 families in Ghana ensuring food sustainability in an area that suffers from acute deforestation.
The Diwali feast evening begins at 7pm and tickets cost £25 per person. To book a place, email party@thepantrypartnership.org or call 07905283471.
