Baking contest at college

CATERING students took part in a baking contest at Wiltshire College Salisbury.

The students used bread dough to produce a wheat sheaf in less than two hours, and the competition was judged by the curriculum manager Chantell Knight.

It was designed to stretch the skills the students had developed in class and challenge their ability to work under the pressure of a competition. They also had to research the recipe and design before they started making their wheat sheaf.

The winners in the team category were Dale Chambers, Jasmine King, Dominic Harris and Charlie Bell. The individual winner was Samantha Cookson.
