Murder mystery raises money for hospital
THE mayor of Salisbury was shot on Saturday - but it was all an act for charity.
Cllr Kevin Cardy was taking part in a murder mystery dinner and 102 guests gathered at the Guildhall to take part.
The blood soaked body of Mr Cardy was found next to a revolver in the Grand Jury Room and guests were invited to inspect the area for clues to discover who had committed the crime.
The Oak Court was used to try the suspects with the audience deciding who was the guilty party.
During the evening there was a raffle and auction and the event raised £2000 towards the mayor's appeal to provide specialist monitoring machines for the children's ward at Salisbury District Hospital.
