New mayor for Amesbury
THE new mayor of Amesbury was announced at the meeting of the town council last night as Cllr Dennis Brown.
This will be his tenth year on the council and he thanked the council members for granting him the honour of being their next mayor.
He also thanked Cllr Fred Westmoreland for his time in office, and said: "We have got a big job ahead of us ladies and gentlemen.
"The most important lesson I have learnt over the last nine years is that councillors don't always get it right and it's essential that we listen to the people."
Cllr Roger Fisher was elected to be the deputy mayor for the next year.
