Salisbury's annual mini-marathon
YOUNG and old enjoyed the sunshine and the countryside as they took part in the annual Salisbury mini-marathon at the weekend.
Schoolchildren and their parents ran 2300m, or 1900 for the under nines, across the Laverstock Downs behind St Andrew's Primary School.
The event has been running for about 20 years and pupils from about 30 schools around the area took part in the races, with Tom Kuhle winning the under nine boys' race and Shaun Prentice the under 11s.
In the girls' races Rachel Lang won the under nines and Olivia Sykes the under 11s.
All the runners were presented with a medal for taking part and there were also awards for team efforts.
