A Borehamwood resident is calling on the police to take action stop youths causing trouble near her home.
The woman, who asked not to be named for fear of reprisals, said in the summer holidays large gangs had been gathering around Warwick Road and Kenilworth Park at night. Some rode motorbikes, which kept her young children awake, and others set fire to stolen cars and tried to break into houses.
The woman was annoyed that when she had called the police they had only turned up several hours later.
"They should take them to court, give them a big fine and lock them up, because otherwise someone is going to get killed over there."
Police said they would look into reports about nuisance motorcycle riding in the area. To report illegal scrambling call the council on 020 8207 7553.
