A WOMAN from Fovant is spending the week dressed in a onesie to raise money for the John McNeill Opportunity Centre.

Trish Kerr is raising money for the centre, as it supports her son.

Jayden, who is four years old today, has been at the nursery since September.

He has speech and language problems but has started to learn Makaton signing to help him communicate.

“It stops him from getting so frustrated because he can’t speak,” said Ms Kerr, 32. “If I was to take him out of there I would have to put him into a mainstream nursery where a lot of teachers don’t recognise and don’t know Makaton signing.

“I think the centre is great – they do things like swimming and horse riding as well as playing and teaching,” she added.

Ms Kerr is hoping to raise about £300 for the centre by spending this week going about her normal routine dressed in a onesie.
