THE Footprints centre, based in the old Duchy Manor School in Mere, has been awarded children’s centre status by Wiltshire County Council.
The centre, which was set up five years ago to provide support to disadvantaged and vulnerable families in Mere and District, has since expanded to provide a range of services to the community.
Such services include early education and care, parenting classes, access to special services for families, helping parents into work and many others, including working with health centres to provide family health improvement.
To be awarded children’s centre status centres have to reach high standards of service set out by central government.
To contact the Footprints Children’s Centre call 01747 861108.
