CAROL Decker is the lead singer in the pop rock band T’Pau, who are performing at Salisbury City Hall next month.

Impatient, funny, bossy.

2. Who was your childhood hero and why?

Olga Korbut, she revolutionised gymnastics.

3. What is your most precious possession and why is it important to you?

My wedding ring. I am a commitment-phobe so it is very symbolic of how amazing my husband is to get one on my finger.

4. What was the first record/CD you bought?

Rocket Man by Elton John.

5. What is the radio/television show you hate to miss?

Frasier.

6. What is your favourite film?

It’s a toss up between Trading Places and The Big Lebowski.

7. What is your pet hate?

Me or anyone else being late.

8. If you could change one thing about the place where you live, what would it be?

A decent, independent, cool bar and restaurant. It’s all homogenous chains with awful food.

9. What are you reading at the moment?

Nile Rodgers’ autobiography Le Freak.

10. What is your least favourite word?

Gobsmacked.

11. If you were choosing a last meal, what would it be?

Confit of duck with celeriac mash and a good rich jus and a vintage bottle of Medoc to wash it down.

12. If you had one wish what would it be?

To get rid of religion.

13. Is there a place in the world you would like to visit above all others?

I love New York.

Guitar.

15. If you had a million pounds to give away what would you do with the money?

Help abused/neglected kids.

16. If you could meet anyone from history, who would it be?

Marilyn Monroe.

I have a red steer called Reggie who is very sweet and very boingy.

Lip balm.

My kids’ future. All you hear is bad news these days about lack of jobs and cost of housing.

I have four. Getting to number one with China in your Hand for five weeks in 1987, birth of my daughter, birth of my son, marrying their dad.
