SALISBURY CITY captain Brian Dutton snatched all three points with a dramatic late winner at the hands of Bromley on Saturday.

Chris McPhee added to his goal tally inside 31 minutes nodding home from Jamie White’s cross.

But the opener was cancelled out four minutes later after Elliot Buchanan unleashed a rocket past Will Puddy.

The Whites surged on for a winner and after missing an array of chances, including Chris Giles’s effort smacking against the upright and former Bromley defender Ugo Udoji causing mayhem in attack, their threadbare squad looked to be coming home from the Courage Stadium with a point.

Until the 91st minute when Stuart Sinclair’s corner smuggled its way through to the path of Dutton, who recorded his first goal of the campaign in dramatic circumstances, by stabbing home an unexpected three points.

The victory has reopened the Whites' seven point lead at the top of Conference South.

Boss Darrell Clarke believes a few last minute tactical changes made the difference.

“We mixed things about towards the end, chucked Chris Giles in attack, which helped us get the winning goal and recorded another fully deserved victory.

“Our strikers were a little off form in front of goal but we kept going and got our justified reward in the end.

“Despite our limited squad we still did enough in the first-half to kill the game off and Will didn’t really have a save to make in the second-half.

“For long periods of the game we absolutely dominated.”

The 34-year-old, who’s been linked with the managerial post at former club Hartlepool United, added he’s flattered but is content at Salisbury.

“I’m very happy and enjoying life at Salisbury.

“I’ve a got a special bunch of lads this season and we’ll just keep going.

“Being at the top doesn’t interest me, it interests me that we’re improving and progressing as a team and that’s now six valuable points away from home.”

Salisbury are back in action on Tuesday night as they welcome Hayes & Yeading to the Ray Mac (7:45pm).
