ALDERBURY enjoyed a comfortable 6-2 win over Premier Division table-toppers Durrington Dynamos in the Charity A Cup on Saturday.

They were 2-0 up after just 20 minutes with goals from Russell Gray and Mark Scott. Alderbury's stand-in goalkeeper then made an excellent penalty save, and they immediately went back on the offensive, Scott making it 3-0. Daniel Smullen pulled one back before the break.

The home side put the game to bed in the second half though, Scott completing his hat trick and Gray getting his second. Haydon Langdon netted the sixth and Dean Smith headed a Durrington consolation.

In the Premier Division, Porton Sports won 5-2 at basement boys Whiteparish. Doug Malcolm crossed for debutant Mike Budd to tap in after ten minutes, and Budd then turned provider, releasing Andy Mearns who smashed the ball in off the post. Luke Nicklen had an effort ruled out for offside, before Ady Hales' 20-yard curler found the bottom corner before half time.

Whiteparish came out for the second half with more purpose and pulled one back with a header. Budd hit his second to cap an impressive debut, before Whiteparish got another. Malcolm added a fifth in injury time from the spot.

In Division One, Boscombe Down Rec Club played out a 4-4 thriller with leaders Devizes Inn, despite finding themselves 3-0 down after 20 minutes. Devizes then had a penalty which they missed but were allowed to retake – yet they missed it again. Ashley Fox's superb header off the line also helped to keep the score down.

Boscombe took full advantage. Chris Young pulled one back after being set up by Harry Gale and Robbie Homebury's defence-splitting pass then set up Gale who made no mistake in slotting past the keeper. Gale was on the scoresheet again to level before the break and stun Devizes.

Boscombe took the lead for the first time with Young's second, but Devizes equalised with 15 minutes to go, and Fox had a goal ruled out for offside.

Halfway House reserves won 2-0 at Deacon Alms' second string, with two first-half goals from in-form frontman Aaron Thornborough taking them above their hosts. Deacons responded well after the break but couldn't find a way past a dogged defensive display in poor conditions.

Stockton & Codford reserves maintained their 100 per cent record with a 4-0 win at fellow high-fliers Nomansland & Landford.  It took a remarkable piece of finishing to break the deadlock, and a penalty made it two before the interval. Nomansland pushed hard but Stockton hit them twice on the break in the second half.

Jon Lane scored two to put Durrington WMC in charge against Winterslow, but their visitors pulled one back before half time and it finished 2-2.
