SALISBURY City completed back-to-back wins with three first half goals in the only game to beat the snow in Conference South.
Due to the mammoth efforts from City fans, who helped clear the snow from 7am this morning, ensured the 3pm kick-off went ahead as scheduled.
And the fans were rewarded for their dedication, viewing a superb start from the leaders. Jamie White opened the score line inside the first five minutes.
Huge cheers erupted inside the Ray Mac six minutes later, as Elliott Frear netted his first Salisbury goal since signing on loan in October, with a tricky effort.
And the hosts were in paradise, once they got a third. Free-flowing football was at its best and a move combining; Theo Lewis, Ryan Brett and Stuart Sinclair, was capped off by Chris McPhee in style.
Apart from Jack Mills’ free-kick ricocheting off the woodwork, the hosts were cruising, but a blasting finish from David Wheeler, on the stroke of half-time, gave Staines a ticket back into the game.
Jerel Ifil had a selection of chances he wrecked, which could have setup a tasty finish, but the Whites kept their shape and discipline, to march into a nine point gap at the top.
The Whites travel to Boreham Wood next Saturday (3pm) and then go to Farnborough in a rearranged fixture on Tuesday January 29 (7:45pm).
