Whites unveil two new signings
SALISBURY City have made a double signing to aid their promotion push.
The leaders have welcomed back midfielder Rob Sinclair, brother of Stuart, to the Ray Mac on a free transfer from Stevenage Borough and have also snapped up Gateshead’s Glenn Wilson until the end of the campaign.
Rob Sinclair, 23, who signed yesterday afternoon (Thursday, January 31), was a fans’ favourite during his spell at the club between 2008 to 2010, making more than 52 appearances.
Meanwhile, Wilson is a fresh face among the supporters, who brings an excellent track record to Old Sarum. The 26-year-old natural defender, has featured for many football league clubs, including Crystal Palace and Crawley Town - where he played alongside Chris Giles.
“It’s crucial we strengthen the squad for the last period of the season,” said Clarke.
“I’m over the moon with both signings. Sinclair possesses great quality and by rejoining the club he’s added a massive boost to our talented squad of players.
“Wilson is somebody I’ve had my eye on for a while. He’s a great character and he’s got plenty of experience. I very much look forward to working with him as well.”
Both players are eligible to feature in tomorrow’s squad for the match against Bromley tomorrow afternoon (3pm).
But Clarke’s busy transfer business is not complete. After winger Elliott Frear recently expressed his interest to the Journal that he wanted to stay with the club, he’s now agreed more permanent terms.
He said: “I’m really happy to be here until the end of the season. I’m enjoying my football and I’d like to thank the managerial staff for the faith they’ve shown in me.”
