SALISBURY City have bolstered their attacking options with the signing of Ricky Wellard.

Wellard, who joined the Whites on loan from Cambridge United in November, has returned to Old Sarum on a contract which will see him stay at the club until the end of the 2013-2014 season.

The 24-year-old impressed boss Darrell Clarke and assistant Mikey Harris, during his four appearances for the club at the end of last year.

Wellard’s the third new member to join the Whites - after Glenn Wilson and Rob Sinclair arrived last week – and should be eligible to feature in tomorrow’s clash at Dorchester Town (3pm), dependent on FA and Conference clearance.

“I’m very happy to be back at Salisbury,” he said.

“I really enjoyed my time here on loan and I’m looking forward to working with the team again. My aim is to help the club gain promotion into Conference Premier.”

Clarke said: “I’ve been looking to bring in another player over the past few weeks and Ricky was at the top of my list. I’m over the moon he has decided to join us despite offers from other clubs and believe he will be another useful addition to our squad.”

“It should be a thrilling end to the season.”
