ST PAULS Club reached the Pete Fardell Cup final with a comfortable 6-2 win at Harlequins SC on Sunday.

Louis Elder hit a hat trick, and goals from Jack Brooks, Nick Jackson and a wonderful strike by Chris Guthrie ensured the win.

Porton Sports weren't at the races at Stockton & Codford. They started the brighter and on the 30-minute mark, debutant Dan Booth skipped past three defenders and was brought down for a penalty but Ade Hale clipped the bar with it. Stockton opened the scoring before half time.

The killer blow came in the second half when a free kick was hoisted into the box and a lack of communication between goalkeeper Ben Hatt and defender Luke Nicklen resulted in the second goal. Porton played themselves into trouble for Stockton's third and then an offside decision wasn't given for the fourth.

Deacon Alms narrowly went down 2-1 away at South Newton, taking the lead courtesy of a superb Jamie McCrae header. They conceded an equaliser from a corner, before Rich Tutton fired home a late winner from the edge of the box.

Deacons reserves also lost, 2-0 at home to Nomansland & Landford, who produced a hard-working win in the snow and sleet. Ben Gauntlett got the first before the break and Dan Hayward pulled out an excellent solo effort in the second half.

Also in Division One, Durrington WMC produced by far their best performance of the season, winning 6-0 at Winterslow. They charged into a 3-0 half time lead with a long-range effort from James Kenny, a sharp finish from Dave Docherty and fine solo effort from Davi Culkin. Further goals came from Aiden Beardsley, Paul Blanford, and a 30-yard chip from Nathan Freeman.

Halfway House reserves won heavily away from home too, 5-0 at Value Cars, their fourth straight victory. James Hennesey grabbed the opener by rounding the goalkeeper, before Chris Cullen extended the lead with a 25-yard free kick. Hennesey chested and volleyed the third, then Aaron Thornborough and Harry Bennett added more in the second half.
