RUSHMORE Golf Club’s Rod Alford shot an incredible gross three-under par 68 to take the St John’s Ambulance Charity Competition.
The round included a two at the fourth and four other birdies.
Alford’s masterful performance lowered his handicap from nine to seven, and his 68 is the best gross score at the club since Ben Stow’s 65 in the club championships in 2010, which stands as the course record.
RESULTS
Ladies August Medal, Division 1: Linda Lewis nett 73, Pat Bennett 73, Kate Lush 75.
Division 2: Margaret Scoggings nett 68, Jane Helliwell 74, Annie Noble 74.
