A STUNNING 4-1 win on Saturday was cancelled out by flooding three goals away at Petersfield midweek.

Eddie Perrett, Sam Matthews, Chris Ward and Ryan Jones were on fire in the success over Fleet Spurs but there wasn’t even a consolation at the second-placed hosts in Wessex Division One.

A 3-0 defeat put Gareth Horner’s men back to the drawing board ahead of Saturday’s trip to United Services Portsmouth (3pm).

Last Saturday’s derby winners Laverstock and Ford had the reverse experience of The Blues, losing on Saturday but bouncing back with a five nil smashing at Hayling United on Tuesday night, thanks to goals from James Clifton (2), Phil Morgan, Elliott Wykes and Ollie Batcholer.

The weekend solitary goal defeat at Tadley Calleva was a sore one for boss Robbie Lakeman to take as he was left raging after his side were disallowed a fair leveller.

“I'm just really disappointed for the lads as it was not the first time we have come away from a game this season with nothing to show for our efforts,” said Lakeman.

“They put in a real shift and deserved at least a point from a very hard place to go.

“Phil Morgan has been fantastic for us this year and I know he held his hand up with their goal but he would never have been left in that position had the referee let Ollie back on as he was our covering player.

“And he has made amends by scoring a perfectly good goal only to see it disallowed.”

Ford go to leaders Andover Town on Saturday (3pm).
