ALL eyes are on newly appointed Wrexham boss Kevin Wilkin who is set for a warm welcome on his home debut when Salisbury City visit north Wales tomorrow.

The non-league tactician, 46, quit Nuneaton Town just hours before he was announced as Andy Morrell’s successor on Thursday afternoon, taking charge with immediate effect.

Wilkin, ending a six-year spell with fourth-placed Town, starts his two-year deal at the Racecourse Ground after taking over from interim head coach Billy Barr.

His first visitors Salisbury, like Wrexham, have won just two matches out of their past nine matches in the Skrill Premier with a minor five points separating the two sides.

The Whites, higher of the two in 11th place, could make up some ground on their play-off rivals if they secure their fifth away victory of the campaign.

Twelve losses from 18 games away contributes to City having one of the poorest away records in the league, something they look to change come 5pm on Saturday against the FA Trophy holders.

“It’s a difficult place to go,” said head coach Mikey Harris, whose team’s dry spell in goal has stretched to 430 playing minutes.

“They’re a good side who will feel like they are underachieving this season. They have gone through a transitional period of their manager leaving and Kevin coming in.

“We’ll have to be at our best to get a positive result."

Clovis Kamdjo was left out of the squad for the 0-0 draw with Gateshead after playing 14 games on the trot and is set to return with Angus MacDonald - who was ill.

He added: “Clovis’s been excellent for us all season but I felt like he just needed a rest, and I’m sure he will benefit from the short break.”

“It was nice not to have a Tuesday game so the players could make a full recovery. We’ve played a lot of games in a short space of time, and I think we’ve become a victim of our own success as people’s expectations’ have risen - but that’s what you want.”

“We look forward to the game.”

Rob Sinclair and Callum Hart both came off injured at half time and they could be doubts for the 3pm kick off.
