SWIMMERS from Salisbury Stingrays, pictured, gathered a medal haul by making a blistering start in round one of this year’s County Championships in Trowbridge.

For the women, Carol Vaughan, Lesley Maynard and Lorna Harding all amassed three gold medals in their respective age groups.

And Sharon Allen broke her age group’s county record in the 25m breaststroke.

For the men, Phil Muspratt, debutant Sam Greenslade and Wade Graham also took a trio of individual gold medals from their night’s work. David Bryant was also in stunning form, taking home four gold medals and a county record in the 100m butterfly.

Both genders topped their respective points tables, and as a result Salisbury lead the overall standings on 137 points, followed by 74 for Bradford on Avon and Corsham with 61.

Rounds two and three follow in Swindon and Salisbury.
