IN a matter of weeks the cricket season gets underway and local clubs are rallying for people to help tidy grounds.
Natwest Cricket Force is a scheme, working in conjunction with English Cricket Board and Jewson, which aims to recruit volunteers for DIY projects ahead of the lengthy season.
Compton Chamberlayne Cricket Club, a ground which sunk four inches with the rain, is hoping to launch their Sunday season on April 27.
The club’s also looking for players and anyone who is interested in joining should go along to the clear-up day on Friday. Contact treasurer Nikky Williams on 07725419367.
Steeple Langford Cricket Club are also welcoming people this weekend.
