Salisbury Journal: More anguish for relegated Salisbury More anguish for relegated Salisbury

CRESTFALLEN Salisbury RFC crashed to their heaviest defeat of South West 1 (East) in their penultimate clash.

The Castle Road outfit, already relegated to Southern Counties, slipped to a 107-7 mauling at the hands of ambitious Grove on Saturday.

A miserable ending in Oxfordshire didn’t start well for Neil Loader’s men, who were beset by injury and late withdrawals from the matchday squad.

But much credit went towards the players who did step up to ensure the club didn’t forfeit last minute.

Their hard work was rewarded with only a solitary try which came from Paddy Dickson, with Andy Herriott, enjoying another fine game, adding the conversion points.

Salisbury must rally themselves for the final match of the season against Maidenhead, in front of a bumper home crowd, to try and salvage some pride before the summer.
