TRIUMPHANT Salisbury Striders raised their inaugural Masters League Cup after running out on top at the finals day.
A dramatic 3-2 penalty win over Chichester, after it finished all square at full-time in the semis, booked their slot in the finals against Haslemere on Saturday.
After a three-hour wait in the cold, while third and fourth tussled for bronze in the play-off, Salisbury started sluggishly and were put under pressure for almost the entire first half.
But yet again they defended exceptionally well and only conceded a goal via a well taken short corner.
Going behind spurred the veterans into life and they clawed their way back in the second half.
A double from James Whittle gave Salisbury a 2-1 lead, which is how it ended despite losing Colin Perkins to a nose bleed and Rob Selbie to cramp.
Salisbury: Green, Harrop, Selbie, Miles, Cowling, Caswell, Whittle, Bennett, Brooksbank, Perkins, Harris, Smith, Carr-Smith.
