A TOP score of four under par from aspiring professional Henry Pallas took the winning honours in the Salisbury City Scratch Open.

Pallas, playing off +1 handicap, came out victorious after rounds of 69 and 68 at High Post and South Wilts respectively, holding off the challenge from Jack Charman.

Peter Bicknell, who is Wiltshire County captain, was odds on to share second spot with Charman, but stumbled on the final two holes to finish third.

Also competing in the second open was High Post’s Adrian Foster and Corey Sheppard, who both posted solid level par rounds of 70 in the morning but bowed out on disappointing 75s.

Salisbury and South Wilt’s Steve Tilley also put up a fight with his fine 69 in the afternoon.
