SOUTH Wilts seconds could throw themselves into the Southern Electric Premier League, Division 3 promotion mix if they beat their Bashley (Rydal) counterparts on Saturday.
A tight 13-run win over relegation threatened Trojans has taken them third in the log, 22 points behind Bashley.
South Wilts successfully defended 127 (Rob Pittman 31) after losing their last six wickets for 28 runs at Bemerton.
Dominic Webb ripped out the first three Trojans batsmen with only 14 on the board.
But Gary Stearn (38) and Syed Mahmood (30) swung the game Trojans way with a 66-run stand.
Then, aided by William Wade (2-19) and Tom Pearce (2-22), South Wilts hit back – Webb finishing with an SPL best 6-10 as Trojans dropped to 114 all out.
