SUPERIOR bowling from Farley ensured a 133 run victory over Shrewton II.

A strong first wicket stand from Ian Swain (50) got the hosts off well.

Mike Covill (45) kept the momentum going as Farley hit 103-2 after 25 overs.

Shrewton’s legspin bowler James Cash made light work of the middle order, taking 4-46.

The partnership of Lewis Wakeford and Dave Glanvill came to fruition, adding a further 55 runs in eight overs. Glanvill pushed on to 42 not out to see the home side finish with 219-7.

Shrewton struggled to find a quick reply as Geoff Ramsey tore through the top order, taking three early wickets. Ramsey, along with Jackson, held the visitors to 11 from 11 overs.

Paul Clancy (28) and Matt Emm tried to stop the rot, but excellent bowling from Jake Hand (4-13) and Paul Roberts (3-36) meant Shrewton could only register 86 all out.

With only nine players available, Farley’s second team were always going to struggle at Wilton. Keith Redding’s half-century helped Farley to 153 all out, but Wilton cruised home by eight wickets.
