PREPARATIONS are complete ahead of Gurston Down’s finale.

Two weeks after the Broad Chalke-based track held the British Hillclimb Championship, two more events are in store on Sunday.

A string of top racers will be roaring their engines during Gates of Brockenhurst Hillclimb Championship and the BARC (SW) Top Ten Challenge.

In the Championship, in which scores are based on positions and times within the classes, Simon Purcell from Sherborne leads the mix in his 1.4 litre supercharged Lotus Exige, accumulating 86 points.

While in The Top Ten Challenge, with points being awarded at each Gurston championship event to the fastest ten registered contenders, Salisbury’s Chris Cannell is the current pacesetter.

He is sitting on 32 points in his twin-engined Force SR8.

Tickets cost £10 for adults and under 15s go free.

Practice starts at 8.30am while competitive action is at 1pm.
