DOWNTON’s Ollie Pidgley climbed into the top six of the Michelin Clio Cup Race Series standings at Snetterton 300 Circuit in Norfolk.
The 17-year-old posted a best ever finish of sixth position, second in the Sport Class, during round ten on Sunday afternoon, after coming eighth on Saturday.
Pidgley, who edged Ben Davis at the line on Sunday by 0.3 seconds in the race, said: “In race one, I made up quite a few places and I think I drove as hard as the car could go to be honest.
“We’d made a couple of changes to the car before the first race and they transformed the feel of it really.
“We had the same set-up for race two and I was really happy with it.
“I haven’t tested at Snetterton that much, so to end the weekend with a top six wasn’t bad.”
Croft Circuit in north Yorkshire will host the final two races of the Michelin Clio Cup Race Series campaign on September 20 and 21.
