DURRINGTON FC leapfrogged their Division 1 counterparts Stockton and Codford Reserves into second spot with a 6-1 blitz.

Stockton’s numerical disadvantage, only fielding ten men, saw them punished inside the first five minutes when James Kenny conjured up the opener.

An 11th player finally turned up for Stockton but it didn’t improve the scoreline, worsening it in fact, as Toby Watson chipped the keeper in the 20th minute to stretch the gap to 2-0.

Aiden Beardsley and Craig Stevens heaped more misery into the Stockton wounds as Durrington turned round at the interval with a comfortable four-goal lead.

Ten minutes into the second half, Jon Lane steered a shot into the corner before a consolation penalty from the visitors was duly despatched.

Incidentally, Durrington were awarded a spot kick but missed from 12-yards.

However, that miss was swept aside as a long-range effort from Watson secured his second of the afternoon and three points for Durrington.

They are now within a point of leaders Railway, who picked up a point from a goalless draw with Deacon Alms.

In other Salisbury and District Division 1 results, West Harnham thumped Value Cars 9-1.
