A RECORD 13 goals flew into the net when Rose and Crown and St Pauls went face-to-face in the top-of-the-table clash in Salisbury and District Sunday League Division One.
The see-saw affair swayed one way and another for 90 minutes, but it was St Pauls Club who edged the goal-extravaganza with 6-7 victory over Rose and Crown at Bulford Recreation Ground.
Eight goals were netted in the first half as the teams entered at 4-4 and both teams held an advantage after the break but after the 78th minute, when St Pauls’ seventh arrived, there was no imminent response from the hosts.
St Pauls Club, who have played one more match than the leaders, are level on points with Rose and Crown, 16, at the height of the division.
