LONG-distance runner Jack Bennett jogged his way to second place at Salisbury’s school cross country competition.
The 14-year-old used his speed over four heats, which saw 60 schoolboys compete, to engineer runners-up spot in the intermediate category.
Jack’s classmates – Brandon Cannings, Triston Long and Jake Rawkins – also ran.
PE team leader Mark Haysom said: “I’m really proud of all the lads because they really put their all into it and improved on their positions from last year.”
With Wiltshire cross country trials taking place at the turn of the year, Sarum’s Jack and Jake hope to qualify and progress to run for the district.
