SARUM Academy coasted past Wyvern College in their second of four Salisbury School Football League clashes.

After drawing with Trafalgar School in their first match, a win was much needed, which they got in the fashion of five goals to two.

With the weather against them, Sarum struggled to play their normal passing game and Wyvern battled well to keep the game close. On the half hour mark, a bursting run down the left by Kyle Weeks saw the ball crossed and Konrad Makowski bundled the ball over the line. It looked like Sarum might take control but they squandered a number of good chances - and on the break Wyvern equalised.

Sarum started the second half more determined and exerted more pressure onto Wyvern. They slowly took control and added two quick goals from Issac Thomson and Liam Greenough.

Wyvern then pulled a goal back to make it 3-2 with an excellent free kick.

With time running out Wyvern pushed on for an equaliser. However, some great play by Greenough saw him wriggle free and play a delightful ball to Thomson to grab his second and Sarum’s fourth. Konrad Makowski went onto score a scooped shot into the top corner to make it five and Sarum had bagged the win.

They now move onto their next game full of confidence and with one foot in the semi finals.
