UNPHAZED Lloyd Wallace glided his way to scooping another top skiing accolade.

The 20-year-old freestyle aerial skier, who was SportsAid UK's athlete of the month, continued his medal charge with a bronze medal at the Junior World Championship in Valmalenco, Italy.

Despite reduced visibility and falling snow, Wallace nailed two triple twisting double

somersaults, scoring a lifetime best of 190.70 for his full double-full and double-full full.

Wallace, a student at Bath University student, produced his best against a world-class field to claim bronze in his last event as a junior.

This victory comes after a season of success for the former Semley resident, claiming Britain’s best world cup aerials results since 1995 with four top 20 places and 15th at the Senior World Ski Championships in Kreischberg, Austria in January.

He said: “This has been one of my big goals and I am delighted to have made the podium.

"I would like to thank my Swiss coach Mich Roth who has been working with me for the last three years.”

Wallace's 17-year-old sister Elodie also performed well, being placed 13th in the ladies' event.

The siblings aim to follow in their parents' footsteps - Jilly Curry-Wallace and father Robin Wallace who have represented GBR for freestyle at the Olympics - ahead of being selected for the Winter Olympic Games in 2018.
