THREE cricket captains are hoping to engineer majestic seasons at Redlynch and Hale.

Ian Tanner will guide the first team for another year after leading them to promotion into Hampshire County Division 2.

Iain Soutar is stepping out of retirement to lead the second team in Regional Division 2 West, while Ian Coffin will skipper the thirds again as they come up against new opponents in Regional Division 4 South West.

The club have senior nets at Sarum Academy on Friday evenings, starting tomorrow between 7pm and 8.30pm, and new players are welcome.

In the New Forest League, the junior section will be running teams in under-9s, 11s, 13s, 15s and 17s.

EASTER was busy for Wiltshire after two friendlies with Gloucestershire and Dorset, respectively.

After Saturday’s match at Frocester CC was cancelled, they had a weekend double-header.

They won their first clash by 79 runs and then slipped up by six wickets against Dorset.

The county’s final warm-up friendly is on Sunday against Berkshire at North Maidenhead at 11am, when they attempt to retain the Marlborough Cup. Tom Morton is the solitary South Wilts player to be named in the squad, whose side face Bournemouth on Saturday at 1pm.
