CONSISTENT Salisbury City Under-15s remain at the peak of the Junior Premier League (JPL).
The teenagers visited Stanley Park where they defeated high-fliers FC Wiltshire 3-0. Salisbury started brightly and took the lead through George Higgins from a delightful ball from Liam Greenough. Both teams tried to keep the ball on the ground as they wrestled in blustery conditions.
Greenough netted a double for Salisbury for a satisfying victory, and his side are on the same points as Worcester City. Salisbury face with Wroughton in Sunday’s final of the Wiltshire Cup.
The Whites’ under-16s also had a fantastic weekend in the semi-final of the JPL cup.
It took until extra time for them to strike the crucial blow against Weston-super-Mare with ten-men after losing a player for dissent.
Ronan Clancy won the important penalty in the first period of additional time and Brad Walton made no mistake.
Manager Chris Burden said: "The lads played 40 minutes with ten men and there were some big performances out there."
Hereford await them in the final.
