ALRIGHT Benny sums up the timeless adage ‘horses for courses’.
The 12-year-old from Paul Henderson’s Whitsbury yard simply loves Fakenham where his record now reads two wins and two seconds from five outings, all of them over his favoured trip of an extended 2m5f.
His latest triumph at the Norfolk track was in a handicap chase ridden by Paddy Brennan who made all the running to finish 11 lengths clear of favourite Waddingtown Hero.
It was a career best effort from the veteran who has now won four chases since moving from Ireland to join Henderson last summer. The performance also ended a barren spell for the trainer who was saddling his first NH winner since the same horse scored at Fakenham on January 1.
Medburn Cutler, who gave Henderson the first Flat success of his career in August, showed he has retained his ability on his first appearance for six months when a three-lengths second in a 2m handicap at Chepstow.
