TRIATHLETES from Salisbury Tri Club were scattered across Europe at the weekend - and they didn't disappoint.

Furtherest afield in Austria was Scott Hill who took on the country's flagship ironman.

After the gruelling 112 mile bike ride, 26 mile run and 2.4 mile swim, Hill stopped the clock at 10hours 4mins, which bodes well for the Ironman World Championship in America this October.

In France, competing in the same distance categories as Hill were Dudley Kent and Wayne Reynolds.

Battling through the sweltering heat, Reynolds was first home in 10:58 and Kent finished in 14:52.

Back in the UK, branded as the world's toughest half ironman, Exmoor saw a pack of athletes stride home.

Quickest home was James Cooper in 5:49, followed by Josephine Child (5.51), 4th in category, Eddie Large (6.35), with Hannah Yates close behind in a time of 6:37.

Meanwhile, the Bude Triathlon, Cornwall, brought at the best of Ruth Thom, who was first senior lady and second fastest female.

It took just 1hour and 8minutes for Thom to complete a 500m sea swim, 11miles on the saddle and three miles running.
