A LOWER order half-century from Tom Cranmer could not prevent Godshill from losing by 68 runs when they visited Suttoners 2nds at Kinson Manor.

Suttoners went off like a rocket with their skipper Wayne Murry (22) the junior partner to Mark Beale (76) as the openers struck 70 off the first 10 overs.

Although Jason Cooper (4-55) made inroads into the middle order, number eight Simon Gnad (67) put on 83 for the seventh wicket with Nick Dennett (61 no).

Dennett then propelled the home side to 292-7 in an unbroken stand of 77 with Tim Saunders (42 no) in the last 10 overs.

Godshill skipper Alan Cousins (16) and Jason Cooper (59) put on 66 for their second wicket.

The side then slumped to 112-6 against Kevin Onions (3-22) and Gnad (2-12).

With support from Ben Bealey (17), Cranmer staged a recovery with a seventh-wicket stand of 40 and he hit 80 not out to steer his side to 224 when they were all out in the 38th over.

Breamore let a commanding position slip when they visited Langley Manor 3rds at Hunts Farm and they lost by 40 runs.

Wickets fell to Tom Marlow (2-24) and Simon Dorrington (2-41) as the home side slipped to 78-5 but their revival was due to John Smith (95) and Andy Batten (32 no), who steered them to 232-7.

Steve Marlow (45) and James Fuller (24) kept Breamore in contention and then Alan Northway hit an unbeaten 56 but they finished well short on 192-6.

Hyde visited Pylewell Park and came away with a four-wicket win after a Rob Wilson half-century.

John Kennedy (54) and Dave Woolgar (41) put on 88 for Pylewell’s fifth wicket and they posted 206-6 – Will Alvis the pick of the attack, taking 2-31.

Wilson smashed a quick-fire 54 and the good work was maintained by Will Hayward (35) and Matt Cakebread (41 no), and five wides won them the game at 211-6.

Damerham suffered a humiliating home defeat to Mudeford 2nds with their fate sealed by the visitors’ opening attack.

Ben Bealey (10) was the only batsman in double figures as Damerham were skittled for 58 in 25 overs after the opening bowlers, Gareth Vine (10-7-3-3) and Paul Pennock (3-29), wreaked havoc with the top order.
