SOUTH Wilts thirds charged into third in Hampshire County 3 North as AWE Tadley were victims of a 74-run mauling.
South Wilts’ total of 232-7 was a real team effort as Darren Sargant (36), Steve Kidd (41), Jon Burton (39) and Matt Trehy (48no) all chipped in.
It was a total the visitors never looked likely of overhauling, despite Will Belfield’s 57.
Spin duo Tom Lewis (4-31) and Miles Kantolinna (3-25) took the plaudits as Tadley succumbed to 158 all out in the 42nd over.
South Wilts fourths suffered only their third defeat of the season when losing out to Redlynch & Hale seconds.
After winning the toss, South Wilts batted first only to find runs difficult to come by against the impressive new ball bowling of Stan Boardman (3-12) and change bowler George Hayes (3-25).
Only Harrison Tyler (36) and Trevor Pittman (34) got started for the visitors in a below par score of 142.
Despite an early breakthrough from Josh Croom, the experienced pairing of Mark Savage (73) and Steve Fox (48no) led the home side to a comfortable eight-wicket win in just the 29th over of the match.
South Wilts’ fourths will be looking to get back to winning ways on Saturday when they host mid-table New Milton thirds.
