NOMANSLAND’S plucky run was broken at home to championship-chasing Parley seconds.

An early wicket gave the home side a good start, but Jake Markham and Jamie Hadley made things look easy as they added 270 for the second wicket.

Hadley in particular looked a class act and was eventually out for a superb 137.

Markham was not far behind him and finished unbeaten on 111 at tea as Parley amassed 324-5. A small flurry of wickets at the death gave Nomansland a couple of bowling bonus points, with James Mason and Gary Loveless each picking up two wickets.

For the first time since the opening match of the season, Nomansland’s batting let them down. Although six of the top eight reached double figures, no one went on to make a significant contribution, as the Parley attack picked up wickets regularly.

Top scorers were Terry Harrison with a typically violent 25 and Sam Dempster with 21. Dan Avery with 4-25 was the main tormentor as the hosts capitulated to 127 all out in the Regional Division Two (West) match.

n Dinton Seconds suffered an eight-wicket mauling by Totton and Eling.
