MANAGER Steve Claridge remains content after pulling together a newly-founded squad under budget as they head into their penultimate pre-season friendly on Saturday.

After beating Premier League AFC Bournemouth, Whites thrashed Portland United 4-1 and held Conference Premier outfit Eastleigh to a 1-1 draw.

Returning Callum Hart, who will be unveiled at AFC Totton (3pm), is joined by Callum Casson as the latest players to sign for Claridge.

That means that the former Leicester City and Portsmouth striker has a squad of 19, but he still has his eye on a couple more.

"The team has come together and we're still under budget," he said.

"I'm still looking for two or three more players.

"We never imagined that we would be competitive in the games we played as we've put a squad together in two months.

"We've taken big strides and our players can handle themselves.

"We've had some tough games (Bristol Rovers and Cherries) and we are ready to go."

Whites close their pre-season programme away at Bashley on Tuesday night before kicking off in the Wessex Premier at Brockenhurst on Saturday, August 8.

Salisbury's game with Lymington has been rearranged from August 22 to Friday, August 21 (7.45pm).

Their FA Vase tie with Wincanton Town on Saturday, September 5 (3pm) has been switched from their ground to the Ray Mac.
