SALISBURY hosted a six race card, featuring the Listed EBF Stonehenge Stakes, before 2014 Britain’s Got Talent finalists Jack Pack rocked the stage on Friday night.

On the track, the opening Shipsey’s Marquees Lady Riders’ Handicap featured an established star of its own as leading lady amateur jockey, Katie Walsh, made the journey over from Ireland to visit Salisbury for the first time. Walsh was in the saddle aboard warm race-favourite, Cricklewood Green, but the show was stolen by the David Evans trained Al’s Memory who won comfortably enough, relegating Walsh into second place, despite a galvanised ride aboard the favourite.

There was a treble for Salisbury’s leading trainer for 2015, Richard Hannon, as first Ground Control was an impressive winner of the Bathwick Tyres Maiden under Tom Marquand before Tony Curtis ground out victory in the feature EBF Stonehenge Stakes.

Shell Bay landed the Breeze Radio Handicap to complete a double for 2015's leading Salisbury jockey, Pat Dobbs, to add to his earlier victory aboard Tony Curtis and complete the Hannon hat-trick.

Martyn Meade carried out a successful raid on the Netherhampton venue as Edification was a well backed winner of the Bathwick Car & Van Hire Nursery before Harry Dunlop’s Brittleton rounded off the day with an easy success in the Westover Group Handicap.

Salisbury race again on September the 3.
